Old Scholar Earns Prestigious Award!

Congratulations to Nick Boerema who has just been awarded the Sydney University Medal for Renewable Energy Engineering. This is the university’s highest possible recognition of an undergraduate student in a distinct area of study. It is awarded to a student who has shown highly distinguished merit and performed at a level significantly above the minimum required for Honours Class 1. Well done Nick on you outstanding achievement!

Nick commenced in Kindy with Marita Huxholl and entered our second Year One class, taught by Mary Kelson, back in 1993. Nick continued on to high school at Mount Barker where Heinz Huxholl became his class guardian.

Nick’s parents, Mike Boerema and Margot Kellet, were highly active throughout the school’s pioneering years. Mike was the school Council Chairperson for some time and had the task of officiating at the opening of some of our earliest classrooms. As the proud parents, who are grateful for Nick’s Waldorf Education, we thank Margot and Mike for sharing Nick’s achievement with us.
